Aldo Giusti was born in Massa, Italy in 1946. He lives and works near Florence. Giusti’s major influences are Edwardian Orientalism and John Singer Sargeant. In addition to being a full-time artist, he also teaches at Scuola Libera del Nudo and Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence.
Giusti’s work has been exhibited throughout Italy and Japan. The small objects portrayed in his still life works are the remainders and reminiscences of items from his lifejourneys, faraway places and moments of intense emotion. His oil on fabric works are often finished with a blow torch, creating an ancient yet modern masterpiece.
